- Some notes!
-
- - Read the doc, there are all kinds of useful information there.
-
- - In the main archive there is a directory `HippoPlayerDocs'. It contains
- docs in some other languages than English.
-
- - If you are experiencing strange problems after updating from really old
- version (like v2.07 or so), DELETE S:HippoPlayes.prefs!

- About the future
- ----------------
-
- After finishing my 330 days of military service I moved to my own (small)
- apartment and started my studies at the Tampere University of Technology.
- I have a PC with a direct internet connection (10Mb) and a high quality
- sound card.
-
- I don't have much interest on Amiga anymore. Not much is not equal to
- none, however. This small amount will probably be used to develop
- HippoPlayer. Nothing major will be done, like MUIfying the user interface,
- creating general MIDI support or MP3 player. That is, unless someone gives
- the needed Amiga sources/binaries that I could include in HiP.
-
- I might do an IT support someday..
-
- I've tried several PC modplayers and they all suck, so I think I'll have to
- make a HippoPlayer for PC too someday. It'll use the MIDAS Sound System
- for playing modules. You know, MIDAS by Jarno Paananen who also made PS3M
- and The Player 6.1a.
-
- That's it, I hope I didn't turn everybody down.

- Pirated keyfiles
- ----------------
-
- There are pirated keyfiles and keyfile generators floating around.
- Needless to say this kind of action will not improve my decreasing
- inspiration towards the development of HippoPlayer.
-
- I hope you recognize the difference between a pirated keyfile and a real
- keyfile.

- PS3M versus AHI
- ---------------
-
- AHI is great, for those who have a sound card installed. Otherwise I
- suggest you don't use it.
-
- The paula routines in AHI use interrupt based mixing. This means that AHI
- will always steal CPU time from you. PS3M uses task based mixing. Set the
- priority low and PS3M will never steal CPU time from you. It's often
- enough for the music to run with the left over CPU time, so you will notice
- no system slow down. The only drawback is that sometimes when the load is
- high the music will not play continuously.
